New Housing Price Index (NHPI): May 2010
According to StatsCan, the NHPI rose 0.3% in May following identical increases in March and April. Year-over-year new home prices were up 2.9% in Canada. Calgary prices registered a similar 0.3% increase month-over-month, and was up 3.1% year-over-year. According to the figures released by Statistics Canada today, the cost of a new home rose slightly higher in Calgary than the rest of Canada. In Calgary, the NHPI was up 0.4% from the previous month, and up 2.0% from March 2009. Canada-wide, the index was up 0.3% month-over-month and 1.6% from the previous year. [...]

New Housing Price Index (Sept 2009)
Across Canada, contractors’ selling prices rose 0.5% in September following a 0.1% increase in August. This was the largest month-over-month increase since January 2008 (+0.6%).
